John McCain through down the challenge to create a new super car battery. He is offering a $300 million U.S. dollar prize for the winneer.

The new car battery, as McCain said, should have the "size, capacity, cost and power to leapfrog the commercially available plug-in hybrids or electric cars." Does that sound easy enough?

I recently came across a very interesting article on Joel Comm's blog that got me thinking about how to capitalize on your thoughts. When you get a new idea what do you do with it?

One of the greatest things you can do to get ahead or improve yourself is to set aside time to capture your thoughts. To become a thought leader, you must have ideas to reflect upon. The first thing to do to accomplish this is to have a mechanism to organize your concepts. This could be a journal, swipe file or a voice recorder.

Once you have your thoughts organized take the time to decide if the idea is worth pursing at this time or something to come back to. A good way to approach this is to prioritize it's return on implementation. This can be in terms of money, time, complexity or any other "measurable" means.

After you decide on which ideas to pursue, how will you accomplish their execution. If you are unsure of how to do this it may be worthwhile to create a system.  It really doesn't matter if its a brain-storming session, mind mapping or using a whiteboard to create a plan.
